Chelsea have officially announced the signing of Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho on a long-term contract.
The Argentina international agreed personal terms with the London giants last month, but they have eventually secured his signature for £40 million.
Garnacho was in the stands before the Blues’ derby against Fulham earlier today, and the club have now formally made a transfer announcement.
He told the club’s official website: « It’s an incredible moment for my family and I to join this great club. I can’t wait to get started.
« I watched the Club World Cup and to join the world champions is special – we’re the best team in the world! It’s amazing to be here. »
The Blues were initially keen on landing Xavi Simons from RB Leipzig alongside Garnacho, but they have opted to sign the latter alone.
Simons had been waiting for a move to Stamford Bridge, but he has now made the switch to London counterparts Tottenham Hotspur.’
