Andrew Tate’s boxing future has seemingly become clearer after he surprisingly appeared in the latest Misfits pound-for-pound rankings.

According to a recent report, the controversial influencer is in discussions to make his debut in Misfits Boxing later this year. The 38-year-old had a successful kickboxing career, becoming a four-time world champion. He was forced into an early retirement after sustaining multiple eye injuries – which affected his final few bouts.

After calling it a day in 2016, Tate returned to the world of kick-boxing for a few fights in 2020. Now, though, he wants to try his luck in the world of boxing and it seems as if his debut is around the corner. On Saturday night, former UFC star Darren Till brutally knocked out Luke Rockhold in the main event at Misfits 22 in Manchester.

Following the event, the promotion shared a graphic of their pound-for-pound top ten – which is topped by Till. They also teased the appearance of Tate after placing him at number 10. Tommy Fury and KSI are in at two and three respectively, while Gib and Chase DeMoor complete the top five.

In a post uploaded to X – formerly known as Twitter – Misfits explained the reasons behind their updated rankings. The post reads: “These rankings are for Crossover Boxing only. That means any fighter outside of MF Pro qualifies — whether they come from MMA, YouTube, influencer backgrounds, or elsewhere. Rankings are based on: Record, ability, opposition faced, star Power / draw. Champions receive a +10 point bonus, which can push them higher up the table. »

Following the post, fans were quick to head straight to the comments section and have their say. « Well there is one name there I did not expect to see at all, » said one user, while another commented: « Book Tate vs Demoor. » A third replied: « Yh Andrew Tate on Misfits confirmed. »

Another commented: « So salt losing has put him lower then Andrew who hasn’t fought on misfits yet. » Another fan replied: « Andrew Tate? Where’ve you plucked that from, » while another quipped: « The fact Andrew Tate is here is a disgrace… yall setting up a squash fight huh? » Another wrote: « HAHAA what is Andrew Tate doing here ahha. »

Tate is seemingly set to make his boxing debut this year despite his ongoing legal issues. Four women have lodged lawsuits against the former professional kickboxer, accusing him of sexual violence, allegations he vehemently denies. A trial examining these claims is slated to commence in London next summer. Recently, police seized £180,000 from Tate, funds he used as a deposit on an Aston Martin. The payment towards the special edition Valhalla was made in July 2021, according to Devon and Cornwall Police.
