Azerbaijan’s military offensive in Nagorno-Karabakh

On Tuesday, September 19, Azerbaijan announced that it had launched an « anti-terrorist » operation targeting Armenian military positions in the Nagorno-Karabakh region, the breakaway enclave that has been disputed between Armenia and Azerbaijan for decades.

According to local human rights officials, these attacks have left at least 27 people dead, including two civilians, and 200 wounded.

Azerbaijan on Wednesday announced that it has halted its military operation after separatist Armenian forces agreed to a Russian proposal for a ceasefire.
